R-Trains, also called Regional Trains, are a type of train on the Thorildsby Project. These trains are considered the backbone of rail transport inside of the Commonwealth. They often have high capacity, but mediocre speeds. They often run parallel to X-Trains, giving way to them.
R1
The R1 operates between Åranvik and Lanborg, with a stop in the historical wonder of Røde Mur. The line has hope for an extension eastwards after the Lanborg station. The line is the second oldest intercity rail service in the world, only being surpassed by the X1.
As the line is very old, so are the tracks. Between Åranvik and Lanborg the tracks have a monotonous birch fundament with glowstone implants. The looks of the line are not percieved positively by most clients, however it is implied that the rail service is better than none. The tunnel from Åranvik to Thorildsby and was finished on the day of the 7th January Corruption, in 2024.
Røde Mur was originally added as a station to let X-Trains pass R-Trains, which then turned into a hiking hotspot and a memorial across the border was built.
R2
The R2 operates between Åranvik and Thorildsby, with track construction underway to serve Fjordby and eventually Pantoborg. Pantorg is still underway in construction, being worked on more and more often by DrBackstein. Fjordby is a placeholder for a name of a small not-yet existing settlement, which will be built by Fyndrix. This will be the longest intercity rail line when completed, serving 4 stations and 3 different regions.
The line is considered to be one of the most beautiful intercity lines, as the newly built, not-opened track is made of glass and goes through a fjord. Paired with the modern design, the line continues westwards into Pantokyst.
